With the development of the times, societal demands for products have undergone significant changes. We are committed to addressing customer challenges by creatively transforming technologies accumulated over many years. "SMK creatively connects people with people, people with things, and things with things, thereby solving societal and customer challenges and contributing to the creation of a better society and future." This insight is embedded in SMK's manufacturing philosophy. In the future, amid the wave of digitalization, unpredictable changes may also arise. We will accurately identify societal challenges, address them through manufacturing, and contribute to building a sustainable society. With the rapid advancement of digitalization and the Internet of Things, the role of our manufacturing industry is shifting "from material consumption to spiritual consumption." By integrating sensing, high-frequency, and algorithm technologies with our self-developed traditional businesses, the company has developed new products and services to create new ventures. At the same time, to generate new value, we are expanding our business areas through partnerships and open innovation. Looking ahead, we will continue to identify areas essential for societal transformation and strive to become a company that creates new value. The SMK Group advocates for multinational operations and conducts business globally. Currently, we have 34 sites in 16 regions worldwide, with development, production, and sales bases both domestically and internationally. Approximately 70% of both production and sales are overseas, and 77% of our 3,985 employees are based overseas (all figures from fiscal year 2024), continuously advancing the globalization of our workforce. To further expand our global business, the growth of each employee is indispensable. SMK takes into account individual aptitudes and enriches educational systems that promote employee growth, enabling us to conduct business activities as a company with diverse talent. In April 2025, SMK celebrated its 100th anniversary. To achieve another century of progress, SMK has established a long-term vision for 2035: "To realize manufacturing capabilities that meet all needs and contribute to the next 100 years." With the development of digitalization, the scope of electronic applications continues to expand. Leveraging the manufacturing capabilities cultivated thus far, SMK addresses all challenges faced by customers seeking to utilize electronics by providing high-value-added products and services, contributing to the creation of a prosperous society and future. SMK combines core technologies such as "connection technology," "wireless technology," and "input technology," accumulated over the years, with software and algorithms to achieve differentiation. For this, marketing activities are indispensable. In April 2024, the sales headquarters was integrated into the business divisions to strengthen sales and marketing capabilities. At the same time, an Innovation Center was established to enhance the creation of new ventures. Going forward, we will continue to strengthen marketing efforts and strive to become a company that proposes solutions one step ahead of our customers. "Creating workplaces with potential" and "cultivating self-motivated employees" are two major goals for strengthening human resources. To achieve these, we are reforming the personnel system, revising performance evaluation systems, actively securing and nurturing talent, developing risk management plans, and considering the introduction of role-based recruitment systems. From the perspective of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), we are vigorously nurturing female executives. In addition, we are implementing measures to improve engagement survey scores and creating opportunities for young employees undergoing internship training in production workshops to experience growth.
